Supply Chain Management Forum Update

We held our third partner hosted day at AEI on March 29. Twenty five people from AEI, Otter Products, Woodward, Envirofit, and CSU spent a few hours learning more about AEI’s supply chain operations and sharing product end of life practices and involvement in product design initiatives in roundtable discussions. Each partner hosted day has been a success as they have each brought something new to partner and student interactions. We look forward to more hosted events!

We welcomed new practicum partner, John Deere, to the forum this spring. More than 50 people attended the Supply Chain Management Forum spring meeting on April 4, which had a theme of innovation in the supply chain.  Robert Choy from One Network, Dan Fry from Otter Products, and Greg Ritter from XPOLogistics spoke about innovation in their industries. Dawn DeTienne and Susan Golicic presented findings from their benchmark study on supply chain innovation, and we heard about the fantastic innovations made by Mercy ROi in the keynote address from Scott Alexander! The partner spotlight featured Arrow and their practicum team. Many continued their interactions in the reception at the end of the day (see photo).

The internal case competition teams presented their solutions at the forum, and the partners judged their performance.  The participating students are shown in the photo. The first place team was awarded the first Bill Shuster Award for Outstanding Performance in recognition of the contribution Bill makes to our program. Our spring forum on risk management will be Wednesday, November 1, and we hope to welcome some new partners in the fall.
