Student Recreation Center will be open on football game days

Campus Recreation has announced that the Student Recreation Center will now be open on home football game days prior to kickoff.

The schedule is below:

Oct. 14 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Oct. 28 from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Nov. 18 from 8 a.m. to noon

Nov. 11 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

How to get there

As the campus community gears up to take advantage of access to the Student Recreation Center operating hours on home game dates, it’s important to remember that all game day operations will be in effect across campus, including parking restrictions, changes to campus road access and flow, and more.

So how do you get there and work out? Alternative transportation is the best bet via bicycle, walking, Transfort bus, the Max and the campus bus line Around the Horn. There is a campus bus stop just north of the Rec Center on North Drive/Plum Street (located at the Indoor Practice Facility and Corbett Hall).

Visitors are welcome

If visiting family or friends need a place to work out, or if you simply want to work out together, Campus Recreation is offering a special weekend pass to the Student Recreation Center on home football weekends. Members just need to be present to sponsor guests for a four-day pass for just $10 (a 50 percent discount), good from Thursday through Sunday. Stop by the Service Center Desk in the Student Recreation Center lobby for details and to purchase a pass.

Feedback welcome

The new schedule allows the Student Recreation Center to test game-day openings this semester, which will enable staff to gather feedback from patrons and collect data on participation rates. This information will help inform future operating hours for the Student Recreation Center for the 2018 season.

Those who want to offer feedback regarding game-day openings can stop by the lobby of the Student Recreation Center on any home game day during hours of operation and take an assessment survey. Information on travel to campus, parking, workout times and opinions on hours of operation will be collected throughout the day.
