Student parents can apply for childcare tuition assistance

CSU student parents may be eligible for support with child care tuition for the 2015-2016 year. The CSU Early Childhood Center and the Sunshine House offer assistance through the U.S. Department of Education and the Child Care Access Means Parents in School (CCAMPIS), for parents who meet income eligibility requirements. CCAMPIS offers a grant to support the participation of incocampus child careme-eligible students in post-secondary education through the provision of tuition assistance at campus-based childcare programs.

Eligibility is determined by financial need. Student parents must be enrolled at CSU in Fort Collins as either an undergraduate or graduate student and must be registered for at least one credit each semester to receive CCAMPIS funds.

Karen Rattenborg, administrator of the CCAMPIS grant and executive director of the CSU Early Childhood Center, states, “CCAMPIS is a great example of how student parents are supported here at CSU. Access to high-quality settings for children allows parents to be productive in their studies and promotes success for both the children and the parents.”

What are the child care options at CSU?

CSU offers two fully-licensed on-campus child care programs: The CSU Early Childhood Center and Sunshine House. Both programs offer year-round child care services for children ages 6 weeks to 6 years and are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).

Enrollment at both the CSU Early Childhood Center and Sunshine House are on a space available basis. Contact each program directly for information on enrollment processes and space availability. Eligibility for CCAMPIS funds does not guarantee space at Sunshine House or the Early Childhood Center.
