Denver-based reggae group Tatanka will be performing on the Lagoon Summer Concert Series stage on the west lawn of Colorado State University’s Lory Student Center on Wednesday, June 21, at 6:30 p.m.
The four-member group mixes traditional Caribbean reggae sound with pop influences from the Britannica-American reggae scene.
Tatanka actively tours around Colorado and participates in reggae festivals across the United States. Their rhythmic sound and vibrant stage presence make for a crowd-pleasing event.
The group has received numerous accolades such as High Times’ “Unsigned Band of the Month” 2011 and The Pier magazine’s “ Breakout Artist of the Year” in 2014. Most recently Tatanka was nominated by Denver’s Westword magazine for “Colorado’s Reggae/Jam Band of the Year.”
The evening will also feature local food trucks: Umami Mobile Eatery, Austin Taco, Sustainable Spoon, The Human Bean, and Ba-nom-a-nom.
All Lagoon concerts are free and open to the public. Concertgoers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and park in the Lory Student Center or Moby Arena lots.
