Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to join the Pride Resource Center and Fort Collins community organizations to recognize Transgender Day of Remembrance on Thursday, Nov. 16.
The event will take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Pride Resource Center, located in Lory Student Center 232.
This day comes on the heels of the historical election on Nov. 7 that led to several members of the trans community being elected into public offices across the country. The event is also intended to grieve the lives that have been lost in what now has become the deadliest year on record for transgender people in the U.S.
The Pride Resource Center encourages all to celebrate progress in the transgender community and recognize those whose lives have been lost and affected.
