Organ professor performs monumental Bach program

The Virtuoso Series at Colorado State University continues this fall with a special concert of Bach organ music given by CSU faculty member Joel Bacon on Monday, Nov. 30, at 7:30 p.m. The concert will be held in the Organ Recital Hall at the University Center for the Arts, located at 1400 Remington St. unnamed-1

The evening’s program features Bach’s Clavierübung III – a monument of organ music. Hymn preludes in various styles are bookended by the glorious Prelude and Fugue in E-flat Major. As one of Bach’s few works published in his lifetime, it was certainly a collection dear to the composer’s heart.

New this year, tickets are *no charge for CSU students, $1 for youth (under 18), and $12 for the public. Tickets are available at the University Center for the Arts (UCA) ticket office in the UCA lobby Monday through Friday, 3:30-5:30 p.m. and 60 minutes prior to performances, by phone at 970-491-ARTS (2787), or online at All tickets are subject to a $1 ticket fee for both online and at-the-door purchases.
