Proposal rules for new spring student tradition

As communicated last spring, CSU is creating a committee involving students to review events that would establish a new tradition to end the school year. Students are invited to submit their proposals, and only student submissions will be considered. The university will provide $10,000 in funding to support the event; student organizers must commit to raising funds to pay for additional expenses.

Student leaders will be involved in this committee, representing various areas of campus.

University members will include:

  • Student Affairs
  • Campus Activities
  • External Relations
  • CSUPD
  • Facilities Management

Rules for proposals

  • The sky is the limit! We welcome creative proposals that also must be executable as a real event
  • The event must be created as a new tradition to celebrate the end of the academic year
  • The event must be for CSU students only, and must include a plan for checking student IDs to ensure that only CSU students attend
  • Themes are permissible, such as an Orange Out event, costumed event, etc.
  • Submissions must be emailed to the Dean of Students by noon on Wednesday, Nov. 6 to be considered.
  • Proposals will be reviewed and a few finalists will be selected to present to the committee the week of November 11.
  • The university reserves the right to modify any approved proposal for safety and logistics.
  • Students must successfully fundraise to cover costs of their event in excess of $10,000. The event must be insurable through university processes, and must meet university criteria for events approved through the regular university event approval process, including the large events guidelines.

Submit proposals by emailing them to vpsa@colostate.edu.
