MOVE-IN 2015: First 50 Days

Once the fun and excitement of Ram Welcome is over, new students may think CSU is just all about classes and projects. While studying is important, there are many, many additional opportunities for both entertainment and co-curricular experiences on campus.

During the first eight weeks of the first semester – the First 50 Days of a student’s college career – activities on campus range from RamFest, featuring the fall concert by country superstar Lee Brice, to volleyball and football games, the Cans Around the Oval food drive that provides major donations to the Food Bank for Larimer County to the Education Abroad Fair to help students explore options for studying in other countries.

“First 50 Days is a collaborative effort amongst various offices on campus including Orientation and Transition Programs, Residence Life, Off-Campus Life, SLiCE, Campus Activities, CSU Athletics, the CSU Health Network, and the Office of International Programs,” explained Keith Lopez, assistant director of Orientation and Transition Programs. “The goal of First 50 Days is to promote a variety of large-scale, signature events and programs that are available to all new students.”

The First 50 Days wraps up with Homecoming and Family Weekend, Oct. 15-17. A parade, concerts and performances, and a whole range of activities are planned campus-wide and within individual colleges.

Colorado State University“We want all new students to have the opportunity to learn about how to become part of the CSU campus, engage in community-wide events, and enhance their connection to CSU and understand that attending these events is part of what it means to be a CSU Ram,” Lopez added.
