Mothers of infants sought for sleep study

photo of babyResearchers in CSU’s Department of Human Development and Family Studies are seeking mothers with an infant who is 3 months old or younger to participate in a study that examines maternal and infant sleep and well-being.

In the Possums Sleep Study, participants in group workshop sessions will discuss maternal parenting values, emotionally available caregiving, sleep hygiene, relaxation and mindfulness.

Mothers will learn to create an individualized lifestyle plan that promotes healthy sleep practices for both mother and infant, thereby improving maternal and infant well-being. Participation is voluntary, on a first-come, first-served basis, and sessions are free.

The group workshop is delivered over five consecutive weeks in 1.5- to two-hour segments. The workshops, which will take place at CSU, will be held in November, December and January.
