In memory: Tammy L. Lewis

Tammy L. Lewis (Fleming), 50, passed away Monday, Feb. 22,  in a weather-related accident near her home in Red Feather Lakes.

Tammy was born June 25, 1965, in Belleville, Ill., to Sandra and Donald Fleming. She was the oldest of three children, including her younger sister, Mindy, and her younger brother, Donnie. She moved to St. Louis, Missouri where she met her husband, Michael. They had two children and moved to Fort Collins in June 1997. Tammy lived in Fort Collins until June 2015 when she and Michael pursued their dream of raising a loving family. They moved to Red Feather together in fulfillment of their lifelong ambition and have happily lived there since. She worked with the Engineering Network Service at Colorado State University.

She will always be remembered for her dazzling intellect, quick wit, and generosity.

Tammy is survived by her husband, Michael, and her two children, Taylor and Jason. She is also survived by her sister, Mindy Fleming; her brother, Donnie Fleming and her nieces, Brittany Toennies, Erin Fleming, Jenna Fleming, and Kelsey Fleming in Illinois.

Tammy was preceded in death by her father, Don Fleming; mother, Sandra Mullins; nephew, Joshua Toennies and niece, Shannon Fleming.

Tammy’s memorial service will be held today at Colorado State University in the Cherokee Ballroom from noon to 2 p.m.
