Mike was dedicated to serving students regardless of the time of day.  He was a creative problem solver who worked hard, and used his great sense of humor to put people at ease.  He was courageous and used his courage to make each day better than the last regardless of his chronic illnesses.

Mike enjoyed fishing, rooting on Colorado State University sports teams, and watching the Colorado Rockies and the Denver Broncos.

Mike passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Feb. 29, at Poudre Valley Hospital. He was a long time student and employee of Colorado State University, where he worked for Housing and Dining for more than 38 years. He served as the director of Operations until his retirement in July 2000.  He continued working for Housing and Dining Services after his retirement on the Summit Hall and Academic Village projects.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Elizabeth McCormick of Massillon, Ohio, and his sister and brother-in-law Harold and Patricia Grant.  He is survived by his brother and sister–in-law, Jeannie and Jim McCormick and family, nieces and nephews Joe Grant and family, Dawn Rohr and family, and Mitchell and Scott Laing and families.
