Marching band rocks Thursday Night Football

National TV audience? A crowd of 75,000 looking on? Peyton Manning in the house?

No problem. Not for the CSU Marching Band, that is.

The band took center stage Thursday night at Denver’s Sports Authority Field at Mile High, performing before, during and after the Denver Broncos-San Diego Chargers game. And, like the Broncos, the band put together a winning performance, drawing loud applause from the enthusiastic, orange-clad crowd.

International reputation

Playing on a big stage is becoming old hat for the marching band. The band, which includes more than 200 members and includes students from all eight of CSU’s colleges, has performed several times for Broncos games, and leads the way every year at Denver’s Parade of Lights.

In 2013, the band made an international splash, marching through Dublin at the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade. CSU was the only American college represented in the parade.
