Mama Lenny and the Remedy, Fort Collins’s own blues band, will kick off the holiday weekend with a free performance at the Lagoon Summer Concert Series Wednesday, July 1, at 6:30 p.m. on the west lawn of Colorado State University’s Lory Student Center.
Lead singer Laniece Schleicher, “Mama Lenny,” says the eight-piece band plays unique vintage rock, and blues with a soulful sound.
The Bohemian Foundation will sponsor the Little Kids Rock group PSD Summer Modern Band as an opening act at 6:15 p.m. Little Kids Rock, a national nonprofit, has been helping kids across the country find their inner music makers since 2002 and making lots of sound in the Poudre School District.
In addition to music, Lagoon Concert attendees will be able to enjoy a number of specialty food trucks including Amaize’n Kettle Corn, The Goodness, and The Silver Seed.
The Lagoon Summer Concert Series is produced by Mantooth Marketing with support of Colorado State University, Kaiser Permanente and Thrivent Financial. Event sponsors include The Bohemian Foundation, The City of Fort Collins, Dellenbach Motors; Fort Collins Coloradoan, Houska Automotive, Rocky Mountain Collegian, Townsquare Media, and Western States Bank.
