Award-winning journalist Scott Pelley will be speaking on Tuesday, May 28, about his upcoming book, Truth Worth Telling, as part of Colorado State University’s Evening with an Author Series.
A correspondent for 60 Minutes and former anchor of the CBS Evening News, Pelley has won a total of 38 Emmys for excellence in television broadcasting, for his work in Syria, coverage of the Paris terrorist attacks, and the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.
Truth Worth Telling expands on Pelley’s experience as a first responder at major events of modern times, including the terrorist attacks on 9/11, and reporting on war, famine, bombings and other events that have shaped the world today. The book poses the question, “Don’t ask the meaning of life; life is asking, what’s the meaning of you?”
Pelley’s talk is free and open to the public. Beginning at 7 p.m. the presentation will take place at Hilton Fort Collins Ballroom, 425 W. Prospect Road. Seating is on a first-come first-serve basis. There will be books available for purchase and a signing to follow the talk.
This event is sponsored by the Morgan Library, Friends of the Morgan Library, Poudre River Public Library, Poudre River Friends of the Library, The Liggett Family Endowment, KUNC, Hilton Fort Collins and Old Firehouse Books.
