Farewell to Hughes celebration

Hughes_logoThe first home game of the farewell season at Hughes Stadium kicks off with a variety of celebrations.

The Rams, coming off a loss to rival CU in their season-opening game, host Texas-San Antonio (1-0) at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10. It’s the first of back-to-back home games for the Rams, who host state rival Northern Colorado on Sept. 17.

CSU will celebrate players and teams from each decade Hughes has been in use, starting this week with the 1960s. Hughes opened in 1968, and those first two Rams teams will be honored. Festivities include lots of music from the ‘60s as well.

Military Appreciation Day

CSU will also host is annual Military Appreciation Day before and during the game. CSU’s Army and Air Force ROTC units will join with the Adult Learner and Veteran Services office for a pregame tailgate, and military vehicles will be on display near Ram Town on the south side of the stadium.

At halftime, CSU will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Army ROTC program with a ceremony that will include special guests from Fort Carson in Colorado Springs.
