Faculty and staff: Celebrate Rams football with free tickets!

Grayson_passTo celebrate an extraordinary football season, CSU is offering its faculty and staff an extraordinary offer: Free tickets for Saturday’s home finale.

That’s right … free!

The free ticket offer is to show appreciation for faculty and staff, and to recognize outstanding fan support throughout the season.

Faculty and staff can get up to two free tickets for the 11:30 a.m. regular-season home finale against New Mexico at Hughes Stadium. Just show your CSU ID at the McGraw Athletic Center ticket office – located on the west side of Moby Arena — between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday.

Saturday is Senior Day at Hughes Stadium, and fans will have a chance to honor CSU’s senior class, which has led the way this season. The 9-1 Rams are nationally ranked (No. 22 in the AP Top 25, No. 23 in the USA Today coaches poll) for the first time in more than a decade.

Higgins_426The Rams, who have won eight consecutive games, already are assured of their second consecutive postseason bowl berth and are in contention for their first Mountain West championship since 2002.

Fans will have the chance to see standout quarterback Garrett Grayson and wide receiver Rashard Higgins in action. Grayson has been announced as one of 17 aspirants for the Heisman Trophy, which goes to the nation’s top college football player. Higgins is a candidate for the Fred Biletnikoff Award (given to the nation’s best receiver) and the Walter Camp Player of the Year Award.

Third-year coach Jim McElwain is also being recognized for his remarkable run at CSU. McElwain on Wednesday was named one of 20 candidates for the Maxwell Football Club Collegiate Coach of the Year Award.

Look for a special email from Coach Mac and John Morris, interim director of athletics, about this special offer. For more information, call the ticket office at 491-7267.
