Dan Pallotta, author of “Uncharitable: How Restraints on Nonprofits Undermine Their Potential,” will be the keynote speaker at the official launch of ASCEND’s Elevating Nonprofits Summit on March 1.
The summit is an opportunity for nonprofit executive directors, employees, board members, volunteers, donors, and community members to experience how Colorado State University, through ASCEND, can inspire and equip nonprofits to deliver their purpose.
Online registration for the full-day event, which will take place in the Lory Student Center, is now open, with a special rate for CSU faculty and staff interested in attending just the keynote. Pallotta will speak at 9:30 a.m. in the Lory Center Theatre.
Pallotta invented the multi-day charitable event industry: He created the Breast Cancer 3-Day walks and the multiday AIDS Rides, which have raised in excess of half a billion dollars. He is most notable for his 2013 TED Talk, “The Way We Think About Charity Is Dead Wrong,” which has been viewed more than 4 million times.
Summit sessions
Breakout sessions throughout the day will cover such topics as developing a belief statement, shared leadership and building trust, and brand strategy for nonprofits.
