Dean of Libraries hosts BIG Block of Cheese

BigBlocksmallerSnack and socialize at the Morgan Library over a slice of cheese with the Dean of Libraries.

Patrick Burns, vice president for Information Technology and Dean of Libraries, will be hosting an open discussion featuring a BIG Block of Cheese Monday, Oct. 12, from 10 a.m. to noon. Members of the Colorado State University community will be giving their feedback to “everybody’s dean.”

Students can snack on a slice of cheese while mingling with the panel of Morgan Library associate deans, including Meg Brown-Sica, Tom Moothart, and Dawn Paschal.

President Andrew Jackson, who provided a 1,400-pound block of New York cheddar to his constituents at the White House in 1837, inspired Dr. Burns to host this event.

President Obama’s “Virtual BIG Block of Cheese Day” in January mirrors Jackson’s efforts to allow citizens to engage with White House officials as well.

Those who may not normally be able to engage with the Dean of Libraries are encouraged to grab a slice and start a discussion.
