Colorado State University’s Off-Campus Life office has partnered with RentCollegePads.com to provide a new and improved off-campus housing search resource.
Rent College Pads, an off-campus housing marketplace, provides off-campus housing search options to CSU students, faculty and staff.
Rent College Pads will replace the current home-grown listing service, at no cost to students. This service will help CSU renters compare off-campus housing options, find roommates, sublet their existing units and access a wealth of off-campus housing resources through Off-Campus Life’s Student Handbook.
“The Rent College Pads platform helps students make safe, informed renting decisions because all of the verified housing options are in one place,” said Rent College Pads Chief Executive Officer Dominic Anzalone.
‘Modern and user-friendly’
“Off-Campus Life is excited to partner with Rent College Pads to continue to provide CSU students, faculty and staff with a safe option to look for off-campus housing and roommates through a system that is modern and user-friendly,” said Jeannie Ortega, director of Off-Campus Life. “This partnership will also give our local landlords and property managers more support in posting their properties for rent, and help connect CSU renters with the right rental.”
The new partnership will allow Off-Campus Life staff to increase proactive education and programming for CSU students, while Rent College Pads manages the listing service.
The site features a colorful map of the area surrounding campus where renters can see an overhead view of all properties. Adjacent to the map is a set of filters to narrow down results to a specific selection, including walk time to campus and other helpful features.
CSU eID required
The main listing page will be open to the public, but all rooms-for-rent and roommate listings will only be available to those with a CSU eID and password, to ensure that folks posting and searching through these pages are affiliated with CSU. Additionally, those looking for roommates will be able to see what Facebook friends they have in common, as another safety safeguard.
Listings on the site are purchased by landlords, who use their custom login to manage their listings.
All those posting and searching for rentals will still visit rentalsearch.colostate.edu to access the site.
