Conflict Resolution Month events offered at CSU

October is Conflict Resolution Month, and this year the theme is “Inspiring Constructive Problem-Solving in Colorado.”

Every October since 2007, individuals across the state promote awareness of conflict resolution resources and encourage the use of practices that prevent and transform destructive disputes.

This Conflict Resolution Month, the Student Resolution Center is happy to provide the following opportunities to the CSU community:

Why Didn’t You? Oct. 12, 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. | LSC Grey Rock Room 290
When a racist incident happens to a professor within the classroom, a student of color also feels the impact. Through a short theatrical scene and a facilitated, interactive question-and-answer opportunity with the characters, this Affinity Arts performance explores how the dynamics of race and privilege influence learning environments for students. It also explores how to be effective allies and engage in difficult interactions around racism.

Leading Through ConflictOct. 18-19, 5:30 – 8 p.m. | Student Resolution Center (501 W. Lake Street)
This workshop provides student leaders in fraternities and sororities skills they can use to effectively manage conflict within their organizations. Students will take the Conflict Dynamic Profile assessment to learn and evaluate their own responses to conflict and “hot button” issues. Registration required. First come, first served.
