Community Open House offers fans stadium sneak peek

On-campus stadium

A party for the ages – and all ages – will take place Aug. 5 when CSU hosts its Community Open House.

The free event not only will include a much-anticipated first look at the new on-campus stadium, the public can watch the football team practice at the stadium after enjoying free frozen treats from Revolution Artisan Pops.

And that’s not all: Ram Town, CSU’s kid-friendly inflatables area, will be in place, and live music with acclaimed singer-songwriter Brent Cowles will be part of the fun. The schedule also includes the dedication of the commemorative brick plaza at the stadium’s north entrance.

Here’s the full lineup of events:

10 a.m. – Parking lots open

10:30 a.m. – Ram Town activities on Pitkin Street begin, with live music from Brent Cowles

11:40 a.m. – Commemorative brick dedication

Noon – Stadium gates open

1 p.m. – Football team practice

“Colorado State has a long-standing history of strong partnerships throughout our great community,” said Joe Parker, CSU’s director of athletics. “The Community Open House provides an opportunity for us to celebrate this wonderful collaborative spirit that makes Fort Collins so special. This event also enables us to acknowledge and thank the many football season-ticket holders and brick donors who have so generously and enthusiastically signed-up to make the new on-campus stadium the very best home-field advantage for our football team. August 5 is going to be another exciting day on our beautiful campus and community.”

Parking for the event will be first-come, first-served, with fans permitted to park in any available lot. While tailgating on game days will be permitted in designated lots, there will not be tailgating allowed for this event.

Tickets required

The football practice, presented by Scheels, is free, but requires a ticket for entry. Tickets will be mailed to season-ticket holders, matching the seat location(s) of their purchased season tickets. Additional general admission tickets for the event are available at no cost but will need to be claimed online at www.csurams.com/tickets after July 19 or by visiting the Rams Ticket Office at the stadium on event day. The ticket office is located on the north side of the stadium.

The new Ram Zone Official Merchandise Store at the stadium will officially open Aug. 5, and all concessions stands will be in operation to allow fans to experience the new food and beverage offerings in the stadium.

The Community Open House will be the only opportunity prior to the Aug. 26 opening game against Oregon State for fans to check out the new stadium.
