Come join your fellow Rams at the FORTitude 10K

FORTitude 2017

The second FORTitude 10K still has a decidedly CSU flavor – and a Rams discount on entry fees.

The FORTitude, once again set for Labor Day in Fort Collins, was a big hit last year in its inaugural running. More than 7,000 people ran and walked through the western neighborhoods of the city before finishing at Canvas Stadium.  5280 Magazine named it the Editor’s Choice for favorite race in Colorado.

This year, longtime CSU administrator and former Rams track coach Doug Max will serve as official starter for the race, set for 8 a.m. Monday, Sept. 3 on Elizabeth Street, just west of Moby Arena. Max, who has worked at CSU for nearly 40 years, now serves as senior associate athletics director for facilities and events management.

Other Rams-related race features include:

  • The CSU Wave, which will include CAM the Ram, members of the spirit squad, coaches and athletic department staff getting their run on.
  • Skydivers, including one that will display the CSU flag while dropping into the stadium as the fight song is playing.
  • Lots of CSU volunteers, including several fraternity and sorority members.

Discounted entry fees for Rams

The really important news is that race entry fees have been discounted for CSU faculty, staff and alumni. The fee for CSU folks is $40 – a $5 discount – and will remain that price until preregistration closes.

All participants are encouraged to stick around for the post-race expo outside the stadium and to watch the finish of the USA Pro Chase Race.
