Colorado State Magazine now available on SOURCE

STUDENT WITH DEER ANTLERS

The cover story of the Fall 2018 edition of Colorado State Magazine features a number of undergraduate researchers.

SOURCE, Colorado State University’s award-winning news and information site, is becoming the place to read all about everything CSU, with the addition of a new page dedicated to Colorado State Magazine.

The magazine takes its place on the website, source.colostate.edu, alongside other compelling campus content, from the latest news from the labs of CSU researchers to profiles of students doing amazing things inside and outside the classroom. Each of the eight colleges that make up CSU also maintain their own pages on SOURCE, providing college-focused news about faculty, staff, students and alumni.

SOURCE stories are delivered to more than 40,000 readers on and off campus every Monday and Thursday through a targeted email blast.

“Including the magazine on SOURCE will provide more visibility for interesting and informative digital magazine stories and photographs, and I hope will allow for easier and more intuitive sharing through a variety of web channels,” said Coleman Cornelius, executive editor of the magazine.

While SOURCE is CSU’s digital information hub, Colorado State Magazine is the university’s flagship print publication, highlighting interesting and important academic programs and initiatives, philanthropy, and other forms of engagement critical to institutional success. Published by the Office of the President, it is mailed each spring and fall to about 105,000 households, reaching an engaged audience of alumni, donors, and friends.

The Fall 2018 edition in the new SOURCE format was emailed to an additional 60,000 addresses on Sept. 10; its stories have been shared through the colleges and the university’s premier social media channels as well.

“Ease of sharing is especially important with social media channels, and I encourage people on and off campus to get social with magazine stories,” Cornelius added. “That’s really a great way to highlight, connect with, and build our Ram community.”

More SOURCE updates on the way

In the coming weeks, two new pages will be added to the source.colostate.edu site. The CSU Alumni Association page is nearing completion, providing more opportunities for the far-flung Ram Family to connect and stay informed.

And faculty and staff will find a page dedicated to university employees when CSU Life, the newspaper distributed to all on-campus mailboxes monthly, goes live. In addition to features and columns from and about units and departments across campus, the CSU Life page will provide links to shared governance councils and other important services on campus.
