The Warner College of Natural Resources and Department of Human Dimensions of Natural Resources are proud to welcome Leela Hazzah, executive director and co-founder of Lion Guardians, to campus for a free public presentation on September 30 at 5:30 p.m. at 222 Johnson Hall on CSU’s Main Campus.

CNN Hero

Hazzah is a 2014 CNN Hero whose work has been featured by the BBC- David Attenborough, National Geographic, Vogue and many other media outlets. She will discuss the success of Lion Guardians in engaging local people and communities in wildlife conservation efforts.

Lion Guardians is a conservation organization that promotes the coexistence of people and lions across Kenya and Tanzania. They believe the fate of lions lies in the hands of communities. By empowering warriors who once killed lions and working closely with communities, Lion Guardians proactively minimizes conflict and enables coexistence.
