City, CSU to host Campus West Connections grand opening celebration Oct. 11

Campus West Connections

On Wednesday, Oct. 11, the City of Fort Collins and Colorado State University will host a grand opening celebration and ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Campus West Connections facility at the corner of West Elizabeth and City Park Avenue.

The event will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. and will include tours of the facility, remarks from City and CSU leadership and refreshments from Campus West restaurants.

The facility, which has been planned for several years, opened Sept. 13 and is a collaboration between the city and the university. Staff from several city and university departments will be housed in the shared office space to provide resources and enhance the quality of life for students, renters and long-term residents in the neighborhoods near the university. Departments with a presence there include City of Fort Collins Police Services, the City’s Neighborhood Services Department, CSU Police, CSU Off-Campus Life and the Student Resolution Center.

“This facility is truly a one-stop shop for community services and, as far as I know, this office is one of the first of its kind in the nation,” said Lexi Adler, community liaison for the City of Fort Collins’ Neighborhood Services and Colorado State University’s Off-Campus Life. “We are looking to the future and not only developing best practices, but next practices in town-gown relations.”

The event is free and open to the public. More information can be found at www.fcgov.com/campuswestconnections.
