Cinco-Cinco 5K has something for everyone

Cinco-16-notypeSome exercise. A great T-shirt. Support student scholarships at CSU.

Where else can you get all that for $30 – or less? The 23rd annual Cinco-Cinco 5K run/walk, that’s where!

Proceeds benefit students

The Cinco-Cinco , set for 8:30 a.m. Saturday, May 7, is one of the oldest races in Fort Collins and celebrates the life of former CSU ombudsman Gil Gutierrez, an avid runner who was killed by a drunk driver while running in 1993. Proceeds from the race help support CSU scholarships in honor of Gutierrez. More than 100 scholarships have been funded by race proceeds.

The race begins and ends on the historic CSU Oval. The fast, flat course often attracts top runners from around the area. The race also serves as an official qualifier for the upcoming Bolder Boulder on May 30.

Registration is open

Registration is $25 for individuals; $22 for students and teams of 3 or more; and $19 for CSU students living on campus and participants age 65 and older. All categories cost $30 on race day. All registered participants receive a uniquely designed T-shirt.

A free kids fun run follows the 5K.

Register at the CSU Student Recreation Center service desk, Altitude Running (150 E. Harmony Road) or Runner’s Roost (2720 Council Tree Ave. #112). You can also register online at Active.com, RunningGuru.com or SimpleRaceReg2.com.
