Our hearts are with the LGBTQ+ community of our state and campus and the people of Colorado Springs as we all reel at the news of the mass shooting there last night, in what police are investigating as a hate crime.

This message is primarily for our students, but I am including faculty and staff because it’s important for all of us to understand how members of our university community are being impacted by events beyond the classroom.
“Move-In Week brings thousands of first-year students (and their stuff) to campus over the course of a few short days. By the end of this week, they’ll all have moved into their halls, have joined in the Ram Welcome Convocation, and be looking ahead to the start of classes.”
Your students have shown enormous courage and dedication, and no doubt they have followed your lead.
I know you are proud of your student for their dedication in pursuing their dream of a college degree despite an unprecedented disruption that none of us could have imagined.
Since we anticipate completing the semester of instruction for all our students, tuition and fee refunds are currently not being offered.
The CSU community has committed itself to maintaining our students’ learning momentum through the end of this semester (and beyond).
