Improving Colorado’s social and economic health: 2018 Awards celebrate CSU Extension professional achievements
Colorado State University Provost Rick Miranda and Vice President for Engagement Lou Swanson led the sixth annual CSU Ram Faculty Engagement Tour to Breckenridge on August 6 and 7. The CSU Ram Faculty Engagement Tour is a two-day traveling seminar designed for recently hired and newly tenured faculty, new administrators, and new student leaders.
At the annual Celebrate! Colorado State University event, BSHARP and the Center for Community Partnerships received the inaugural CSU Community Engagement Scholarship Awards. The awards are an initiative of the Provost’s Council for Engagement, jointly established by the Office of the Provost & Executive Vice President and the Office of Engagement.
Results from the 2017 survey of Colorado county commissioners indicate a high level of overall satisfaction with CSU Extension’s quality, value, responsiveness, and level of service. As one survey respondent commented, “Extension in [our county] really does have something for everyone, from 4-H for children to Master Gardening for seniors.”
Colorado State University Vice President for Engagement Lou Swanson visited five Chinese universities in January. All five universities – Zhejiang University, Hunan Agricultural University, Huazhong Agricultural University, Nanjing Agricultural University and Northeast Agricultural University – are members of the China-US University-based Agricultural Extension Alliance.
The Office of Engagement recognized CSU students from Anhui Province, China at a December 2017 reception.
