Allyship and Inclusion workshops for grad students

The Graduate Women in Science Northern Colorado Chapter, along with TILT, the Graduate School, and Warner College of Natural Resources, are sponsoring workshops this spring for graduate students at CSU.

The first workshop, on Feb. 21, will explore keys to ally development, discuss skills to recognize when an intervention is necessary, provide tools to intervene, and an opportunity for practice being an ally through case studies.

The second workshop, on April 12, will discuss how to have inclusive conversations and the concept of Intent vs Impact. It will cover how people can unintentionally create a hostile environment for colleagues, students, and employees. We will explore common phrases that marginalize campus members and discuss best practices to creating inclusive conversations.

Both workshops will be presented and facilitated by Ria Vigil from the Office of the Vice President for Diversity. Lunch will be provided, and all CSU graduate students are welcome to participate.
