The Little Shop of Physics, Colorado State University’s one-of-a-kind, hands-on science outreach program, drew families in droves to the Lory Student Center Feb. 27 for the program’s 25th-anniversary open house and alumni reunion.

Little Shop director Brian Jones estimated 8,000 visitors for the day. The event relied on the efforts of 150 or so volunteers and staff, and about 50 science partners, including a traveling science exhibit from Norway, and one from Ithaca, N.Y.

“By the numbers, it was certainly our biggest and best yet,” Jones said. “It’s our 25th annual event, and this year we figure we’ll hit the 500,000-kid mark. It’s a year of milestones, to be sure!”
