Wendy Woo brings her band to the lagoon

Colorado legend Wendy Woo will bring her rock, blues, folk, and jazz band to the Lagoon Summer Concert Series Wednesday, July 15 at 6:30 p.m. on the west lawn of Colorado State University’s Lory Student Center.

A prolific performer and songwriter, Woo makes about 200 appearances each year and has written more than 100 original songs recorded on 11 albums. Released in May of this year Woo’s most recent album, Tipping Point, features her signature guitar style, a technique she calls “slaptap.”

Born in New York City, Woo now resides in Loveland with her husband and two small children. She’s become somewhat of a local legend, drawing audiences of all ages, to her lively and entertaining performances.

Little Kids Rock group, Riffenburgh Modern Band, will set the stage for the Wendy Woo Band at 6:15 p.m. In addition to music, attendees will be able to enjoy a number of specialty food trucks including Amaize’n Kettle Corn, Taco Stop and The Silver Seed. The public is encouraged to bring their lawn chairs and blankets for an enjoyable evening on CSU’s grassy lawn.
