UPDATE: East Drive between the Oval and University Ave. will be closed Wed., June 29 – Fri., July 1.
A water line under Oval Drive will be replaced in phases, closing small sections of Oval Drive and adjacent streets beginning May 16.
The water main line was originally installed in the 1940s and it is no longer feasible to repair the line. It will be replaced in phases, with initial work starting on May 16, closing Oval Drive from Laurel Street south to where the drive splits to form the Oval.
Information about phased closures
The final phase, the sixth closure, will not impact Oval Drive, but will close a section of sidewalk between Engineering and Glover.
