Grill the Buffs Pep Rally

Thursday, September 17

The Associated Students of Colorado State University[3] hosts the annual pep rally from 11:40 a.m. – 1 p.m. to prepare all CSU Rams for the Rocky Mountain Showdown!
Students and the campus community are invited to the Sutherland Gardens in front of the Lory Student Center to show off your Ram Pride in preparation for the battle against the CU Buffaloes.

This annual event allows students the opportunity to get pumped up for the Showdown while feasting on buffalo burgers.

The event also features the CSU Marching Band, CAM the Ram, the CSU Football Team, Coach Bobo and the CSU Cheer Squad.

CSU students, faculty, staff, alumni and supporters are encouraged to wear their green and gold to work and classes to show their Ram Pride.

Game Day and events begin with the pregame Ram Rally at the stadium, followed by the kickoff of the 2015 Rocky Mountain Showdown football game at Sports Authority Field at Mile High.

  • Parking lots open – Sports Authority Field at Mile High
  • CSU Alumni Ram Rally and Tailgate: 2 – 4:30 p.m. Register for the tailgate here[4]
  • Club seat & Luxury Suite gates open: 3pm
  • CSU/CU President’s Reception (West Club): 3 – 4:30 p.m.
  • All Gates Open (to general public): 3:30 p.m.
  • Kickoff: 5:00pm (CBS Sports Network, 105.5 ESPN Radio)

Bag Policy Overview
To provide a safer environment for the public and significantly expedite fan entry into stadiums, the NFL has implemented a new policy limiting the size and type of bags permitted into the stadium.

The Broncos encourage fans not to bring any bags, however the following will be permitted:

  • One clear bag no larger than 12″ by x 6″ x 12″ OR a one-gallon clear freezer bag (Ziploc or similar).
  • In addition, fans may carry a small clutch bag or purse no larger than 6.5″ x 4.5″, with or without a strap.
  • Each ticket holder, including children, may carry an approved clear bag and a clutch purse.

Get Your Tickets

The Rocky Mountain Showdown tickets[8] and parking passes are on sale now.

CSU Students: Stop by the Mcgraw Athletic Center Ticket Office[9] and show a valid CSU student ID for one $20 ticket. The ticket office is open Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm. Limited seats are available for the chartered bus for Ram Fans for $20 per passenger. Information and details are available at the McGraw Athletic Center Ticket Office.

Rams Volunteer at Denver Rescue Mission[10]

4:30 – 6:30 p.m., Denver Rescue Mission, Lawrence Street Shelter, 1130 Park Ave. West, Denver, CO
Join fellow Rams in giving back to the community by volunteering at the Denver Rescue Mission. Help prepare meals for community members alongside fellow alumni.

Wednesday, Sept. 16

Scrimmage: Football in American Art from the Civil War to the Present[11]

5-7 p.m., CSU Denver Center, 475 17th Street (corner of 17th and Glenarm). Denver, CO
Linny Frickman, director of the University Art Museum, and Albert Bimper, Ph.D. (B.A., ’06), senior associate athletics director, discuss bringing this exhibition to life at CSU. RSVP by Sept. 10.

Kick off the Rocky Mountain Showdown with friends and fans! Enjoy drink discounts and a program emceed by CSU football great Joel Dreessen (’05).

Rams can find licensed gear in the CSU CSU Denver Center’s Ram Zone[13]. The CSU Denver Center, 475 17th Street, is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
