Organic edibles at farm market stand

The Student Sustainable Farm market stand offers a variety of vegetables from the student-run organic garden located on the south side of campus, at the W.D. Holley Plant Environmental Research Center
630 W. Lake St. The market stand is open Thursdays, 4-6 p.m., through Oct. 2.

What could be fresher?

What could be fresher or more tasty than veggies picked the same day they’re sold? The CSU Student Sustainable Farm is 1/3 acre farm full of delicious, organic vegetables, grown and maintained by students.

The students involved in cultivating and harvesting veggies at the farm love their work.

“It’s truly a pleasure to be out here growing healthy and yummy food for the community,” said farm manager Kalyn Taylor, a junior in the Department of Soil and Crop Sciences, College of Agricultural Sciences.

Weekly produce stand

At the produce stand, you can purchase fresh ingredients for dinner or to incorporate into recipes you freeze or can. Tell your friends and bring your canvas or paper shopping bags.

The type of veggies that are available depends on what’s ready to harvest during the week of the sale. This summer, we anticipate having kale, tomatoes, lettuce, eggplant, carrots, squash, green beans, and more.

Weather and other unforeseen circumstances may make it necessary to cancel a Thursday organic veggie sale.  Please check the University Event Calendar for updates.
