The CSU community and Fort Collins residents will have two opportunities to hear from National Public Radio’s Joe Palca, science correspondent, this month.

He’ll share his secrets on “How to explain the universe in two minutes or less” in a seminar on Friday, Dec. 11, at noon, in Behavioral Sciences A101 on the main CSU campus. This seminar is sponsored by the Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Pathology in the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.

If you can’t make it for this talk, Palca is also the featured speaker at a Science on Tap event later that day, 6:30 p.m., at Pateros Creek Brewing, 242 N. College Ave.

Palca currently hosts “Joe’s Big Idea,” a radio series that explores the minds and motivations of scientists and inventors. He has worked at NPR since 1992, and he began his career in television in 1982, working as a health producer for the CBS affiliate in Washington, D.C. Palca has a doctorate in psychology, has won numerous awards and is a co-author of Annoying: The Science of What Bugs Us.

The seminar and Science on Tap event are free of charge and open to the public. You do not need to register to attend.
