Nico & Vinz are selling out venues across the world, but at 8 p.m. Oct. 17, Colorado State University students can see these rising stars – along with Mike Posner and Splyt – in their own backyard, at Moby Arena.
Tickets go on sale Sept. 10. Of the 7,966 tickets available for the show, 5,300 are student-priced; CSU students can purchase tickets for either $10 seated or $15 floor tickets. Floor tickets go on sale Sept. 10; seated tickets go on sale Sept. 13.
Community members can purchase seated tickets for $35 starting Sept. 10. There are a total of 2,666 community-priced tickets available.
All tickets are first-come, first-served and can be purchased online.
Hailing from Oslo, Norway, the singing/songwriting duo Nico Sereba and Vincent Dery write and perform songs that fuse varied eclectic influences – from pop to reggae, West African dance to hip hop, and rock to soul.
Mike Posner is a pop, hip hop and R&B artist who is trying to put a dent in childhood hunger in America. Claiming that over a year ago his life changed, Posner serves one meal to a hungry American child for every album he sells. Posner is known for writing and producing Justin Bieber’s “Boyfriend” and Labrinth/Emeli Sande’s “Beneath Ur Beautiful.”
Traveling around the country and performing with the likes of Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Logic, G-Eazy, Hoodie Allen, AER, Action Bronson, SoMo, OCD and more, in just two years, Splyt has become one of the most talked about Colorado hip-hop artists out.
Higher-profile artist at an affordable rate
Ram Events, formerly the Association of Student Activity Programming, is working with Dynamic Entertainment to co-promote the Homecoming & Family Weekend RamFest. Working with Dynamic Entertainment helps lower expenses and allows Ram Events to bring in higher-profile artists at ticket prices that are affordable for students.
“Working with a promoter allows us to communicate with the artists and agencies to bring in new and exciting talent,” said Sydney Boyle, external relations and public relations coordinator for Ram Events. “After working with the Homecoming committee, Ram Events was fully committed to providing a great Homecoming concert, something we could not have done without a promoter.”
After garnering nearly 2,000 student votes via text message, email and traditional tally, Ram Events sought out a band that was representative of students’ interests when booking a performer for this year’s RamFest. This effort aligns with the goal of making decisions with as much student feedback as possible.
“We believe that student input is important for our office because we are run for students, by students,” said Boyle. “Our main goal is to make sure that we are using the student fees we receive responsibly; we go to the campus for their opinion since we are using their student fee dollars. We strive to be driven by student voice and feedback.”
Nico & Vinz’s “Am I Wrong” video has more than 45 million views on YouTube, is the No. 1 most Shazamed song in the world and has more than 100 million streams on Spotify, according to a release from the artists.
RamFest
RamFest is an annual effort by Ram Events to bring nationally recognized speakers, musicians, comedians and other performers to CSU in either fall or spring.
Ram Events, a new organization created from a merging of Diversity and Social Justice Programs and ASAP, aims to create an all-inclusive programming board that meets the needs of CSU’s diverse student body. Ram Events strives to provide students with diverse and affordable events that both entertain and enrich the CSU experience.
