In memory: James Slusser

James Robert Slusser, 65, of Fort Collins, passed away Nov. 4, in the cardiac ICU at the Medical Center of the Rockies.james-slusser
Jim was born in Frankfurt, Germany, to Robert M. and Elizabeth B. Slusser. He is survived by his wife Barbara Slusser, of Fort Collins; loving sister, Virginia (Ginny) Tape and brother-in-law Jim Tape, of Santa Fe, New Mexico; nephews Sean and Christopher Tape; and great niece and nephew, Tara and Zack. Jim was preceded in death by his beloved brother, Paul Eric Slusser.

James Slusser earned his doctorate in atmospheric sciences in 1994 from the University of Alaska Fairbanks and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Cambridge University, Cambridge, England. Dr. Slusser worked at CSU starting in 1996 as a research scientist, and was director of the USDA UV-B Monitoring and Research Program at Colorado State University, 1999-2007.

Memorial services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov.10, at the Collinwood Assisted Living Facility, 5055 South Lemay Avenue, Fort Collins, CO 80525. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
