Manage stress mindfully

The CSU Health Network offers two ways for students, faculty and staff to manage stress with mindfulness, techniques that focus awareness on the present moment.

“Mindfulness can help you cope with difficulty, improve focus, reduce stress, and increase your health and well-being,” according to Viviane Ephraimson-Abt, coordinator of resiliency and well-being for the Health Network.

The Mindful Drop-in Group meets every Wednesday through May 3, 12:10-1 p.m. in the Lory Student Center, Room 324 (on March 1 and April 5, meetings will be held in LSC 326-328; no meeting on March 15). No registration is required for the group, which is free and open to students, staff and faculty.

A four-week workshop designed for students, Mindfully Managing Stress, is offered at different times and days of the week to accommodate as many class schedules as possible. Students can choose from three workshops meeting this semester:

  •             Mondays – Feb. 6-27, 12:15-1:30 p.m.
  •             Tuesdays – Feb. 28-March 28, 2:15-3:30 p.m. (no meeting during Spring Break)
  •             Thursdays – March 30-April 20, 11 a.m.-12:15 p.m.

The Mindfully Managing Stress workshops are free to attend, but space is limited and registration is required by calling 970-491-6053.

If you have questions, contact Viviane at vabt@colostate.edu[1] or 970-491-4724.
