Lake Street temporarily closed from College Ave. to RR track

Access to West Lake Street is closed from College Avenue to the railroad grade crossing to all vehicle traffic through  May 27 (weather-permitting). The parking lot adjacent to Lake and College – lot 575 – will remain open. The lot can be accessed from Lake, west of the railroad tracks, by taking an alternate route from either Center Avenue or East Drive as indicated in the map below. The existing sidewalk on the north side of West Lake will remain open to pedestrian traffic.

The temporary closure is the result of construction activity for gutter, curb and sidewalk improvements associated with the planned CSU Health and Medical Center. The CSU Health and Medical Center is slated for completion in spring 2017 at the northwest corner of College Avenue and Prospect Road, and will serve as a gateway to campus.

The center will house the CSU Health Network to serve students, and a clinic and occupational health services facility to serve CSU faculty, staff and the general public. UCHealth and Associates in Family Medicine will operate the clinic. The center also will house the emerging Center for Healthy Aging in partnership with Columbine Health Systems, providing space for collaborative, multidisciplinary research and academic programs.
