In memory: Robert “Bobby” Lee Jones, Sr.

Robert Lee Jones, Sr., was born in Fort Collins, on August 25, 1956, to Roy Lee Jones and Lillian Miller. He grew up and went to school in California. He moved back to Fort Collins when he was 17 years old. Bobby grew up in the plumbing trade working for his dad and began working for Colorado State University in the plumbing department, where he eventually retired in 2011.

He married Donna Ahrenholtz in 1976 and they had two children, Robert Lee Jones, Jr. of Gunnison, and Alisa Anne Jones of Westminster. On February 21, 2001, Bobby married Wendy Zhang Jones and together they had Wesley Zhang Jones on December 4, 2001.

Bob spent most of his life in Ft Collins with his family, enjoying camping, hunting, fishing, and gardening. He valued his family and friends above all and was dearly loved by everyone.

He is survived by his sisters, Patty Brennen, Jennifer Jones and Valerie Jones; his wife, Wendy Jones; three children, Robert Lee Jones, Jr., Alisa Anne Jones, Wesley Zhang Jones; two grandchildren, Kade Leiam Jones and Jacey Ellen Jones. He also had many nieces, nephews, and was dearly loved by his auntie, Dora Berry.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16, at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 1200 South Taft Hill Rd., followed by a reception and barbecue potluck at the Jones family home, 2218 Laporte Ave., Ft Collins.
