WHAT IS SOURCE?

Your reliable source for news about Colorado State University

If you want to know what’s happening at CSU – who received a grant for cutting-edge research, what parking permits will cost next year, when the next free concert takes place, where members of the Ram Family are doing good in the community – you need a reliable source.

SOURCE, the website created and maintained by the Division of External Relations, gives faculty, staff and students just that – and more. Source is a convenient, accurate, one-stop source of announcements, events, news and information about the people, places and events that make Colorado State an exciting, vibrant place to work and learn.

SOURCE is created by and for CSU, and we look forward to submissions from all across campus. Only University-related news or events sponsored by official and recognized University groups, organizations, or departments, including student organizations, submitted by members of the Colorado State University campus community will be considered. Items can include news stories, people profiles, reports about research, announcements from the president, breaking University news, obituaries, features for students and about student organizations, and updates from HR, training/development opportunities, honors and awards, and news you can use every day.

To appear in SOURCE, all events must be submitted to the University Event Calendar.

The newest items on SOURCE are sent on Monday and Thursday mornings to all CSU email addresses and off-campus subscribers. But the email is just the beginning. The website is rich with content, such as videos and photo slideshows, with links to related content that provides context and more information about specific stories.

Explore SOURCE, and feel free to give us your feedback via email at source@colostate.edu.

More tools for campus communications

Faculty and staff e-mail lists are available for communicating with specific groups of employees. The lists are tightly moderated and their use is restricted.

RamNotice is available for urgent campus messages or important messages that need to be sent to the entire campus community. Only the offices of the President and Vice Presidents have the ability and authority to utilize this system. Please contact your Vice President’s office for assistance.

ListServs are special interest discussion mailing lists, both class and non-class related.

RamSelect is a tool in ARIESweb that allows for departments and colleges to send emails to their students based specific selection criteria – it is not intended for large, campus-wide emails.

University Event Calendar, maintained by the Department of Web Communications, provides a one-stop source of event information for Colorado State University students, faculty, staff, parents, alumni and the Fort Collins community.

The Campus Information Center in the Lory Student Center can help you promote your event, service or organization by displaying your poster in the LSC and 31other locations around campus. Spaces for brochures advertising events pertaining to CSU, the community or the surrounding area are also available for rent in the LSC.
