Budget hearings for Fiscal Year 2017 will be held Jan. 27, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., in the Cherokee Park Ballroom in the Lory Student Center. The process is open to the entire campus community and the general public.
Representatives from each Budget Area Review Committee will have 15 minutes to present their budget priorities. They will make their arguments for the initiatives they have submitted earlier in the budgeting process – what they are for, why they are important, and answer any questions. Provost Rick Miranda will summarize the requests and present the latest draft of the FY 2017 budget at the end of the day.
Based on the information presented at the hearings, an updated draft budget will be compiled and ready for review and feedback from the campus community in mid- to late February, according to Miranda.
A final budget must be in place before the state’s fiscal year begins on July 1.
