CSU mourns passing of Bill Gray, Gay Israel

April 16, 2016, was a sad day for Colorado State, as the university lost two of its most influential faculty members.

William Mason (Bill) Gray, emeritus professor of atmospheric science and a pioneer in the field of hurricane forecasting, and Richard G. (Gay) Israel, longtime head of the Department of Health and Exercise Science and founder of the Heart Disease Prevention Program, will be greatly missed not only on campus but throughout the extended Ram Family.

Details for memorial services are still being finalized. The celebration of the career of Dr. Israel will continue as planned on Thursday, April 21, 3:30 p.m. in the Cherokee Park Ballroom in the Lory Student Center.

The annual campus-wide Rams Remember Rams ceremony will also take place on Monday, April 25, at 5 p.m. on the steps of the Administration Building.
