Come join the party as CSU celebrates its 147th birthday.

The weeklong Founders Day celebration continues at 1:47 p.m. Friday on the Lory Student Center plaza. Free cookies will be handed out, and members of the CSU community can sign a giant birthday banner.

If you’re eating lunch in any of the campus dining centers, Founders Day birthday cake will be served.

Mosley, family honored

The celebration began Monday when CSU honored late alumnus Lt. Col. John Mosley with the Founders Day Medallion. Mosley, known as the “Jackie Robinson of CSU athletics” was the university’s first African American football player. He later went on to fly with the legendary Tuskegee Airman and was a public servant for many years.

Mosley died in 2015 at age 93. He was represented at the ceremony by several members of his Denver-area family.
