After seven days of racing at breakneck speeds across Colorado in the USA Pro Challenge bicycle race, the Colorado State University Best Young Rider jersey belongs to Tao Geoghegan Hart.

The 20-year-old rider from London took over the jersey emblazoned with CSU Ram logos after stage 5 and held on to it for the remainder of the week.

This is the third consecutive year CSU has sponsored the Best Young Rider jersey in the USAPC, which recognizes the top racer under 23 among a premiere international field of professional cyclists.

“We’re thrilled to be part of the USA Pro Challenge,” said Tom Milligan, vice president for external relations at Colorado State University. “So much of what we do at Colorado State University is focused on helping young people excel. The Best Young rider jersey is a perfect fit for CSU.”

The USA Pro Challenge is broadcast to a worldwide TV audience as top athletes race through the Colorado Rockies, reaching higher altitudes than some have ever had to endure, through equally breathtaking scenery.

“We think people all around the world are going to see that and say, ‘Wow, that’s a place I need to look at,’” said Milligan. “Think about CSU and our culture. There are bikes everywhere on campus. Bicycles are part of who we are. So when a world-class bike race came to our state we said we have to be part of that.”
