Following a highly successful first round of season-ticket purchases for Colorado State University’s inaugural season at its new on-campus stadium, the seating process for the new facility enters the next phase Monday, May 1.
More than 11,550 season tickets have been sold to date; with more than 1,600 premium seats sold, more than 8,000 season tickets being claimed through the seat selection process and more than 1,950 new season tickets sold. The goal is to make all remaining single-game tickets available for sale by July 24 – one month prior to the first-ever game at the stadium against Oregon State on Aug. 26.
“I think there was a fair amount of anxiety among our fans over moving from locations at Hughes Stadium that were very familiar to them, but I think the process we created to purchase tickets and parking was very well thought-out and worked well,” said Joe Parker, Director of Athletics. “We were able to accommodate most everyone’s seat requests and parking requests as well. I’m very pleased.”
Ninety percent of season tickets renewed
As for the process itself, fans had a variety of options available to make their selections. Many chose to do so in person at stations set up at Moby Arena, while many went online and others simply called in their orders.
“I would describe our ticket-buying experience as smooth and efficient,” said Susan Gutowsky, who has been a season-ticket holder, along with husband Wayne and family members, since 1994. “(Senior Associate Athletics Director for Development) Dave Crum and his staff have maintained a clear line of communication with the fans and that took much of the stress out of transitioning from Hughes to the new stadium.”
Opportunities for all
The next step in the process is a five-day window from May 1-5 offering existing season-ticket holders the opportunity to purchase additional season tickets. Also during this time, season ticket holders and Ram Club members will receive information on how to request extra tickets for the Rocky Mountain Showdown, road games and other single games.
Beginning the week of May 8, new season tickets will be allocated. The Rams Sales Team will be contacting new season ticket holders to finalize their seat locations. Season tickets for 2017 remain on sale and can be reserved by calling the Rams Sales Team at 800-491-RAMS (7267).
Mini plans offer savings
Mini plans, which include three games and offer substantial per-game savings, go on sale June 26. Following the season-ticket holder and Ram Club member exclusive request period, Rocky Mountain Showdown single-game tickets will be available for sale to the general public beginning July 12. Single-game tickets for all remaining home games will be exclusively available to CSU alumni, faculty, staff and donors beginning July 24, while single-game tickets will be available to the general public July 26.
Most of the best seats on the stadium’s west side – which require a donation on top of the ticket price – have been sold, but the east side still has lots of great seating options, including both priority and non-donor seating. Priority tickets on the east side offer bench-back seats. Parker said most of the non-donor parking lots on campus are full but several other parking options remain.
Also, a few spots remain open in the New Belgium Porch on the north concourse and in the Orthopaedic & Spine Center of the Rockies Field Club. All other premium seating – suites, loge boxes, clubs, etc. – is sold out.
