For the second year in a row, Colorado State University was selected by Unique Venues, a marketing and membership organization for event planners and non-traditional event spaces, as one of its Best of Show places to meet.

In the winter 2016 issue of Unique Venues Magazine, CSU was named Best Suburban Venue, and as a runner-up for Best Outdoor Event Space. Last year, the first year the UV awards were presented, CSU was recognized as the Best Venue to Host a Youth Meeting or Sports Camp.

Dezarai Brubaker, director of CSU’s Conference and Event Services, and Elodie Vigneron, sales and marketing manager for CES, received the award on behalf of CSU at the Unique Venues members conference in Washington D.C. in November.

“All of our winners are true trendsetters and leaders,” said Michele Nichols, founder of Unique Venues, based in Edwards, Colo. “They’re pushing the envelope, providing services and benefits that haven’t been done before.”

Unique Venues cited not only Fort Collins’ Northern Colorado location and national reputation as a destination in itself, but also the wealth of meeting space, classroom space, and available on-campus lodging as reasons for CSU’s honor.

“After last year, we had high hopes that we would bring home a trophy this year … and we did,” Vigneron said. “It is truly an honor to be recognized by our peers for some of the new, innovative ways we approach conference and event services here at CSU. We look forward to welcoming more meetings to our ‘non-traditional’ spaces.”
