Collegian.com[1], the website of The Rocky Mountain Collegian, was recently recognized in a pair of national student media competitions.

The website was named one of 25 finalists for a 2017 Online Pacemaker Award[2] from the Associated Collegiate Press. Winners of the Pacemaker, considered among the preeminent honors available to a student media organization, will be announced in the Newspaper and Online categories this October at the ACP/CMA National College Media Convention in Dallas.

The Pacemaker nomination is the fourth in the Collegian‘s history and first in the Online category.

In addition, Collegian.com was named a finalist in the “Best Affiliated Website” category in the 2016 Society of Professional Journalists Mark of Excellence awards[3]. The website previously had won the category at the SPJ Region 9 level, qualifying it for the national contest. Judges could name one winner and up to two finalists in each category.

Julia Rentsch served as the Collegian‘s editor-in-chief during the 2016-17 academic year.
