Around the Horn starts service; design revealed

Around the Horn, a new, free cross-campus shuttle, will start service on Monday, Aug. 18, with a limited schedule.

  • The shuttle will run every 30 minutes between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. for the week of Aug. 18.
  • The system will move to stops every 10 minutes from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 25, and will maintain that schedule for the academic year.

Around the Horn is designed to help visitors, students, faculty and staff get across the university’s nearly square-mile campus more conveniently and quickly. The system is operated in partnership with CSU’s Parking and Transportation Services, the City of Fort Collins Transfort bus system and the Associated Students of Colorado State University.

Fourteen stops across campus

Around the Horn will provide rides to 14 stops across campus identified with feedback from students and employees. The shuttle will make a loop from the southeast side of campus, to and around the Oval, across to the Lory Student Center, and down to Moby Arena.

Shuttle wears green and gold

Students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends got involved with the new system by voting on how the shuttle buses would look, and the new shuttles will be wrapped with the look – featuring a ram head-butting the front of the bus — starting Spring semester. The university, including Parking and Transportation Services and ASCSU, and Transfort also worked together to expand Transfort routes from campus to the university’s Foothills campus and Veterinary Teaching Hospital, with those routes starting Aug. 25. Around the Horn also connects with University Station, the MAX stop on Mason Street between University Avenue and Pitkin Street. More information about Transfort routes across the city.
