Ailey II coming to Fort Collins

As part of Black History Month, students and the local community will have the unique opportunity to see Ailey II, an internationally-known dance troupe based out of New York City, at 7:30 p.m. March 2 at the Fort Collins Lincoln Center.

RamEvents is bringing group, in collaboration with the Black/African American Cultural Center and the Multicultural Undergraduate Research Artistry and Leadership Symposium conference, which reaches out to students of color through mentoring, research, networking, and multicultural leadership.

Ailey II is known for merging the spirit and energy of the country’s best young dance talent with the passion and creative vision of today’s most outstanding emerging choreographers. Founded in 1974, the company seeks to establish an extended cultural community that provides dance performances, training and community programs for all people.

“We are excited to bring Ailey II, because they are extremely creative and passionate and provide a unique fusion of different choreographic styles,” said Sydney Boyle, RamEvents external relations and public relations coordinator. “As one of the events scheduled for Black History Month, the dance company will also offer insight into historical black culture and modern dance through their performance, enriching  students’ experience on campus.”
